Following the tragic events of October 25, 2023 Maine MILL began working with the City of Lewiston, the Lewiston-Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and artist Tanja Hollander to collect memorial items (such as candles, Lewiston Strong signage, posters, hearts, love letters to family and friends). Maine MILL is documenting, archiving, and displaying these items inside the museum in a memorial.  These hands say “I Love You” in sign language and were crafted to honor the members of the deaf community who lost their lives.  For more information regarding the October 25th Memorial Project click here.
