Currently on display in our temporary gallery space, this drafting table was used by Bates artists to create countless art pieces for use in bedspreads, tablecloths and more. Featuring designs ranging from a roller-skate to flowers, visitors to our exhibit “Pattern and Process” can see firsthand how some of the bedspreads made in the Bates mill were first conceptualized. There are pieces from all stages of creation, ranging from point-paper designs to sample woven products. Come visit our exhibit and see this artifact in person!
