Nancy Higgins worked as a stitcher in at the Bates Mill. She discusses her work and her eventual role as a supervisor. She also mentions when the mills started closing as well as unions at the workplace.
Maine MILL’s permanent exhibit is closed as we prepare to move to our new space. “Drawn in Light: Charlie Hewitt” remains open through the end of May and is free to the public. Opening weekend in our new building will be June 26-28.
