Lorraine Brown
Lorraine Brown has been making shoes for a long time. She was born and raised in Lewiston/Auburn, getting started in shoe-making at the age of 15 when she wanted to raise money for roller skates at the Beacon. She worked at the Bleachery and Libby Mill for a time, but returned to shoe-making with Knapp Shoe where she would stay for 22 years as a stitcher. She still works today at Falcon Shoe making Fire Boots, which she has done for over a decade. Lorraine shares stories about her time with shoe-making and how the industry has changed over the years as well.
