Irene Madore of Lewiston talks about working at Maine Shoe at a young age in this interview. She talks about her role in finishing and packing, making different kinds of shoes, the reputations of different shoe shops, and friends she made in the shoe industry over time. She then goes on to touch on lay offs associated with shoe shops closing, her experience with the NRA, and the automation and outsourcing within the shoe manufacturing industry.
